Most of us are used to guided group or individual Bible study options that are topical and designed to be covered in a 6-8 week time frame, or maybe cover an entire book of the Bible in an 8-12 week time frame. There is usually a 30-45 minute video to view and short time for discussion, facilitated by a volunteer following a study guide. These certainly have their place, but they don't allow for much depth. When we love someone, we want to know them more, and scripture tells us that we are to love the Lord with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength. Jesus taught us that this command was the most important one (and equal to it, loving our neighbor as ourselves). Taking the time to study His word in-depth, in proper context, is part of loving God with our minds. As Jen Wilkin always says, we can't love someone we don't know. Come get to know Him better each and every week as we study one book of the Bible at a time, verse by verse. You'll be able to view the short weekly lesson video on your own time in a way that fits your schedule. You can do this on your own or with a group of friends or even your small group at church- it works in every situation. One big difference is that you will have direct access to the study leader/teacher for questions as well as a private group for study discussion, so no matter your situation, you can talk through what you are studying with others and get your questions answered.
